Pera Museum presented a selection of works from the Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation’s Children Portraits Collection in the unique and inspiring collection: Golden Children 16th -19th Century European Portraits.
The exhibition Flash Back: Yannick Vu & Ben Jakober Works 1982 – 2012, presented simultaneously with the Golden Children, 16th-19th Century European Portraits exhibition, allowed insight into different aspects of the couple, not only as artists but also as collectors, highlighting 30 years of creativity.
Since its inauguration, Pera Museum has been instrumental in promoting young artists and institutions of art education by opening its exhibition floors during the summer months. In 2012, the Museum hosted Dokuz Eylül University’s Faculty of Fine Arts from İzmir.
Francisco de Goya (1746-1828), known as one of the most unique artists of European painting and a pioneer of modern painting, was introduced to the Turkish audience for the first time with four series’ of engravings along with a selection of oil paintings, at the Pera Museum in 2012.
The exhibition showcased works by masters of photography, who practiced their art in İstanbul from the end of the XIXth to the early years of the XXth century.
