Author-Editor Conversations
İlhami Algör and Vedat Ozan

Talk

November 28, 2024 / 18:00

The November guests of the Author-Editor Conversations, organized in collaboration with Pera Museum and Atlas Publishing Lab, are two authors: İlhami Algör and Vedat Ozan.

These two authors from various disciplines and genres are coming together to discuss İlhami Algör's newly published book from İletişim Publishing, Jül Vern Seyahat Acentesi.

“In Jül Vern Seyahat Acentesi, İlhami Algör follows the journey of a traveler. While Phileas Fogg, the protagonist of Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days, strives to circumnavigate the globe, Algör steps along with him through continents and cities. He critically examines Verne's narrative through the lens of the colonialism that dominated the period, while also creating an opportunity to understand the 19th-century, reflecting on its people, society, and issues. By delving into Victorian literary texts, films, places, and even emotions, Algör encourages readers who wish to accompany this journey to see more than what meets the eye.”

The event taking place at Pera Museum Auditorium is free of charge and does not require reservation. The event will be held in Turkish.
