Author-Editor Conversations organized in collaboration between Pera Museum and Atlas Publishing Lab features author Sona Ertekin and editor Oğuz Tecimen.

In the talk, the paths from living to writing, the formation of a fictional work, and the possibilities of creating worlds through stories are explored. The speakers examine the traditional genres in our literature, the contemporary developments beyond the high literature codes, and the pursuit of new sensibilities within the context of realism, idealism, and the conditions of our time.

The event taking place at Pera Museum Auditorium is free of charge and does not require reservation. The event will be held in Turkish.

About Sona Ertekin
After studying American Culture and Literature at Hacettepe University, she completed her master's degree in Cinema-TV at Istanbul Bilgi University. She has written for underground publications and mainstream media, including Cumhuriyet, Cumhuriyet Dergi, and Yeni Yüzyıl. After experiences in advertising copywriting and magazine publishing, she worked as a programmer-presenter at Açık Radyo for seven years and took on the editorial role for Açık Kitap.

Since 2008, she left office behind and traveled through the tropical and mountainous regions of Far Asia as a freelance translator. She has been interested in rock climbing, scuba and free diving, yoga, and modern dance. After ten years as a Psytrance DJ under the name “Sona Shine,” she retired from raves. She wrote travel articles for two years under the title “Sona’dan Mektup Var” in Aktüel magazine.

She translated books such as Barbarları Beklerken (Müge Gürsoy Sökmen, Başak Ertür - Doğan Şahiner, 2010), Filmlerle Sosyoloji (Bülent Diken & Carsten Bagge Laustsen, 2010), Kovboy Kızlar da Hüzünlenir (Tom Robbins, 2012), and Yaşama Sanatı (Thich Nhat Hanh, 2024). Her first novel Arızanın Merkezine Seyahat (Can Yayınları – Mundi) was published in 2019, and her second novel Her Şey Dans Ediyor (Everest Yayınları) was published in 2024.

About Oğuz Tecimen
Editor, writer, and translator. He graduated from Boğaziçi University's Department of Western Languages and Literatures and also studied humanities and social sciences. He took courses in religious studies and anthropology at SOAS for a term. He pursued a master's degree in Philosophy at Galatasaray University for two years. Between 2012 and 2021, he worked as a magazine and book editor at Notos Kitap. He is currently working as an editor at Koridor Yayıncılık. In addition to his writings and translations published in various outlets, his books include Anakronik – Zamansız Bir Adamın Günlüğü (narrative, 2019), Âdem Ademoğlu’nun Boşluğu (novel, 2022), and Varlıkölçer (poetry, 2023).
