Pera Museum, in collaboration with Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), is one of the main venues for this year’s 4th Istanbul Design Biennial from 22 September to 4 November 2018.
The Designer Conversations, organized over the course of the Biennial, provide an exchange platform for participating designers to share and expand on their projects and approach. Participating designers come together in a moderated conversation, revealing their individual processes and exploring common and differing threads in their work and practice. The format adds a discursive layer to the design biennial's exhibition and allows the audience to learn more about the works on display and the designers that created them.

Temporary Exhibition
Pera Museum hosted the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial, organized by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV). Istanbul’s Seaside Leisure: Nostalgia from Sea Baths to Beaches exhibition brought together photographs, magazines, comics, objects, and books from various private and institutional collections, and told a nostalgic story while also addressing the change and socialization of the norms of how Istanbulites used their free time. Istanbul’s Seaside Leisure was a documentary testament of the radical transformations in the Republic’s lifestyle.
José Sancho does not conceal the voluptuousness of his female torsos; he highlights it. These torsos are symmetrical from front, but on the other hand, from the side, the juxtaposition of concave and convex forms creates dynamism.
Byzantine medical art was grounded in the Greco-Roman medicine transmitted by Hippocrates and Galen and new concepts introduced by such physicians as Oribasios of Pergamon, Aetius of Amida, Alexander of Tralles and Paul of Aegina.

visit the museum free of admission.
