Pera Kids
Ages 9-12

  • March 5, 2022 / 13:30

Would you like to create a brand-new comic book character from scratch? In this workshop, we design a character of our own and create a comic book page based on the works in the exhibition, draw together and talk about the characters we create, as well as the exhibition. After character creation and drawing, we work on building a story where we can use that character.

The Conventions of Identity

The Conventions of Identity

The exhibition “Look At Me! Portraits and Other Fictions from the ”la Caixa” Contemporary Art Collection” examined portraiture, one of the oldest artistic genres, through a significant number of works of our times. Paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos shaped a labyrinth of gazes that invite spectators to reflect themselves in the social mirror of portraits.

“The portrait tells us that there is an inner and an outer dimension of the human condition; it provides—or should provide—information about both the physical and psychological character of an individual.”
