What would be the place of satellite dishes or air conditioning units in modern architecture? The workshop, which focuses on the altered and artificial texture of Istanbul's apartment buildings due to user intervention, produces three-dimensional works that evoke both the complexity and personality of the city. Instead of Istanbul's conventional apartment forms, the workshop explores building forms that reflect Bauhaus school. Participants first create their modern structures by combining various geometric shapes and boxes, then make "Istanbulish" interventions on these three-dimensional structures.

About Pley Studio
Pley is a creative design studio that is based on the concept of playfulness. Aiming to help people stretch possibilities and enter the magical circle—namely, a free and playful state of mind—Pley uses open-endedness as a tool. Addressing the concept of 'homo ludens', which advocates that humans are playful beings, Pley serves as a guide to the game, appealing to both children and adults who engage in play.
Over the years of 1864 through 1876, Stanisław Chlebowski served Sultan Abdülaziz in Istanbul as his court painter. As it was, Abdülaziz disposed of considerable artistic talents of his own, and he actively involved himself in Chlebowski’s creative process, suggesting ideas for compositions –such as ballistic pieces praising the victories of Turkish arms.
