Luminous Colors: Cylinder Lamp

Pera Kids
Ages 7-12

  • January 24, 2025 / 13:30

Children take inspiration from Gizella Rákóczy's watercolor works, where she applies the same color in different layers, creating varied compositions with light and dark tones. Using the kirigami method, they cut their transparent colored papers into various shapes and adhere them in specific arrangements to design a cylindrical lampshade. At the end of the workshop, the children experience the surprising colors emitted by their lamps by placing battery-operated candles inside their designs.

Capacity: 12 people
Duration: 90 minutes
Fee per workshop: 350 TL

The event will take place at the Pera Museum.

Giacometti in Paris

Giacometti in Paris

The second part of exhibition illustrates Alberto Giacometti’s relations with Post-Cubist artists and the Surrealist movement between 1922 and 1935, one of the important sculptures series he created during his first years in Paris, and the critical role he played in the art scene of the period.

Giacometti worked nonstop on his sculptures, either from nature or from memory, trying to capture the universal facial expressions.

Giacometti was selected for three important retrospectives at the New York Museum of Modern Art, the Tate Gallery in London and the Louisiana Museum of Art in Denmark, all of which were a great success.
