Workshop for Teachers: Emotional First Aid

Teachers

  • February 2, 2024 / 15:30

We know what to do when we fall and hurt ourselves, but do we really know what to do when we are heartbroken, unsuccessful, anxious or facing a challenging life experience? How do we approach such situations so they do not grow out of control in our inner world and support our well-being? In this workshop, after visiting the exhibition Souvenirs of the Future with a guided tour, teachers learn the "Emotional First Aid" skill set, whose three key elements are "self-care, empathy and mindfulness", which they can apply to themselves and their students.

Instructor: Suzi Amado
Capacity: 10 people
Duration: 90 minutes

The event will take place at the Pera Museum (face-to-face).

The exhibition Look at Me! Portraits and Other Fictions from the ”la Caixa” Contemporary Art Collection examines portraiture, one of the oldest artistic genres, through a significant number of works of our times. Through the exhibition we will be sharing about the artists and sections in “Look At Me!”.

Medicinal Herbs in Byzantium

Medicinal Herbs in Byzantium

Knowledge of plants and the practice of healing are closely entwined. The toxic or hallucinogenic nature of some roots, and the dangers associated with picking them, conferred a mythical or magical character and power.
