A Single Man is based on the novel of the
same name by Christopher Isherwood. Set in Los Angeles in 1962, at the height of
the Cuban missile crisis, it is the story of a British college professor who is
struggling to find meaning to his life after the death of his long time partner.
The story is a romantic tale of love interrupted, the isolation that is an
inherent part of the human condition, and ultimately the importance of the
seemingly smaller moments in life.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Pera Museum invites artist Benoît Hamet to reinterpret key pieces from its collections, casting a humorous eye over ‘historical’ events, both imagined and factual.
Tadeusz Ajdukiewicz discovered the Orient in 1877, touring Syria, Egypt, Turkey, and the Crimea with Władysław Branicki. This experience made a profound impression on him, and he was to continuously revisit Eastern themes in his works for the rest of his life.
You try to remember the future. A bird painted on the ceramic panel in a historical palace has found its place on the wall. The tiles of a church and a mosque have been painted on canvas. The pattern of a centuries-old ceramic plate appears before you on a velvet curtain.
