The program Chosen Families: Tomer Heymann focuses on the director’s six documentary films that explore with an honest and sensitive perspective the concept of family, the ones we are born in and the ones we choose, and the feelings that arise from being together.
Inspired by the Biennial’s The Seventh Continent theme, Pera Film brings cinematic masterpieces that combine the memory of nature and society and encourage us to question our level of alienation to the world in which we live and the extent of our contribution to this alienation.
Pera Film celebrates Pride Week with a film program titled Pay It No Mind. With a title inspired by Marsha P. Johnson, who played a significant role in instigating the Stonewall Riots in 1969, the program includes three films that attracted a great deal of attention when they were released.

The program is a collection of stories of individuals who await the right time to live their own reality, rebel against the truths of their time, wonder about the lives being led concurrently on the far side of the world, challenge the notion that a day is but 24 hours, and believe in the healing effect of time.
Presented as part of Parajanov, with Sarkis exhibition, Pera Film’s Rebel Images: Sergey Parajanov is a collection of the director’s films given form by his unbridled imagination and documentaries that showcase the testimonies of artists who have been inspired by Parajanov’s work.
