Pera Museum, in collaboration with Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV), is one of the main venues for this year’s 4th Istanbul Design Biennial from 22 September to 4 November 2018.
The Designer Conversations, organized over the course of the Biennial, provide an exchange platform for participating designers to share and expand on their projects and approach. Participating designers come together in a moderated conversation, revealing their individual processes and exploring common and differing threads in their work and practice. The format adds a discursive layer to the design biennial's exhibition and allows the audience to learn more about the works on display and the designers that created them.

Temporary Exhibition
Pera Museum hosted the 4th Istanbul Design Biennial, organized by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV). He had imagined the court room as a big place. It wasn’t. It was about the size of his living room, with an elevation at one end, with a dais on it. The judges and the attorneys sat there. Below it was an old wooden rail, worn out in some places. That was his place. There was another seat for his lawyer. At the back, about 20 or 30 chairs were stowed out for the non-existent crowd.
The exhibition Look at Me! Portraits and Other Fictions from the ”la Caixa” Contemporary Art Collection examines portraiture, one of the oldest artistic genres, through a significant number of works of our times. Through the exhibition we will be sharing about the artists and sections in Look At Me!. This time we are sharing about Janine Antoni , exhibited under the section “The Conventions of Identitiy”!
When we examine the Ottoman-themed paintings of indoor everyday life by western painters, musical entertainment attracts attention as a fundamental aspect of the lifestyle.

The museum is closed on Mondays.
On Wednesdays, the students can
visit the museum free of admission.
