Shot on the streets of Paris in the spring of 1962, shortly after the Algerian War, the film consists of a series of street interviews with the city's citizens. The documentary explores people's feelings towards the social and political issues of the time, examining the meaning of happiness and touching on universal ideals such as prosperity, tolerance, economic opportunity and freedom. The film, praised for its innovative approach to studying human experiences and emotions, won awards at the DOK Leipzig and Venice Film Festival.
