Exhibition Tour and Workshop for Nursing Homes

Pera Adult

Residents of nursing homes who take a guided tour of the exhibition titled On the Spot: Panoramic Gaze on Istanbul, a History acquire information about selected works on display. The tour, specially prepared for dementia and Alzheimer patients, is a cognitively stimulating activity that allows participants to explore art with pleasure and interest. In this workshop, which can take place either face-to-face or online, participants design collages inspired by Istanbul's panoramic views by using Istanbul photographs and various archival documents.

Istanbul’s Seaside Leisure: Nostalgia from Sea Baths to Beaches exhibition brought together photographs, magazines, comics, objects, and books from various private and institutional collections, and told a nostalgic story while also addressing the change and socialization of the norms of how Istanbulites used their free time. Istanbul’s Seaside Leisure was a documentary testament of the radical transformations in the Republic’s lifestyle.
