Rather, it presents in dramatic form a psychological portrait that is unique in its empathetic intensity. The film advocates on behalf of those unfortunate individuals who have run afoul of the law, not out of wantonness, but because of an inborn condition that has determined their orientation. These individuals deserve not our contempt, but our compassion.”

Objects also bear the memory of the geography to which they relate. Ceramics, with soil as their primary material, are directly linked to the land where they are produced: forging a direct relationship with earth, ceramics bear the memory of the soil where they come from.
Félix Ziem is accepted as one of the well-known artists of the romantic landscape painting, and has been followed closely by art lovers and collectors of all periods since.
