Haze and Fog is a new type of zombie movie set in modern China. The video explores how the collective consciousness of people living in the time of what Cao Fei calls “magical metropolises” emerges from seemingly tedious, mundane, day-to-day life. This magic reality is created through a struggle at the tipping point between the visible and the invisible. Haze and Fog shows the miracles of the world are blurring and we need something special to help us see more. It’s about the invisible miracles of these potentially lost stationary lives.

Marcel Duchamp’s Bicycle Wheel

Marcel Duchamp’s Bicycle Wheel

In 1998 Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu collaborated on an obvious remake of Marcel Duchamp’s Roue de Bicyclette, his first “readymade” object. Duchamp combined a bicycle wheel, a fork and a stool to create a machine which served no purpose, subverting accepted norms of art.
