Nahid, who divorced at a young age, lives together with her 10 year-old son. According to Iranian law, the father should have custody of the child, but in this case, the father was willing to grant Nahid custody, on condition that she not remarry. Nahid’s relationship with another man will make life difficult for her, both as a woman and as a mother.
