Pera Museum Learning Programs organize fun and inspiring exhibition tours and workshops titled "Beyond the Landscape" as part of On the Spot: Panoramic Gaze on Istanbul, a History, catering to different age groups, both online and face-to-face, from November 21, 2023, to June 29, 2024.
Primary education and high school students attend workshops after a face-to-face or online guided tour of the exhibition. In the workshops prepared for individuals with special needs, the participants attend workshops after a guided exhibition tour given by the instructors.
Adults can tour the exhibition with a guide through online tours and can join online/face-to-face workshops led by expert instructors and artists. Teachers from different disciplines can benefit from the guided online/face-to-face exhibition tours conducted in groups, discovering ways to convey the exhibition to their students in a fun and effective manner. Nursing home residents, accompanied by their caretakers, gain knowledge about selected works after experiencing the shows with a guide, and they have the opportunity to discover art with pleasure and interest through cognitively stimulating workshop activities.

The exhibition aims to shed new light on the history of Istanbul’s representations through panoramic paintings and photographs. It critically approaches the history of the "panorama" and contextualizes its many iterations. While examining the layered relationships in the production and consumption of panoramic images, the exhibition also explores the circulation of these images among different audiences, their receptions, and the connections between various media that have gained popularity over centuries.
Henryk Weyssenhoff, author of landscapes, prints, and illustrations, devoted much of his creative energies to realistic vistas of Belorussia, Lithuania, and Samogitia. A descendant of an ancient noble family which moved east to the newly Polonised Inflanty in the 17th century, the young Henryk was raised to cherish Polish national traditions.
A series of small and rather similar nudes Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu and Eren Eyüboğlu produced in the early 1930s almost resemble a ‘visual conversation’ that focus on a pictorial search. It is also possible to find the visual reflections of this earlier search in the synthesis Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu reached with his stylistic abstractions in the 1950s.
