Pera Museum Learning Programs organizes interdisciplinary workshops for adults within the scope of Istanbuls Today and Paula Rego: The Story of Stories between 16 March and 26 April 2023. In Pera Adult workshops, where everyone 18 and over can participate, the participants embark on various journeys, sometimes inspired by the works of Paula Rego, a powerful storyteller, and sometimes inspired by the multi-layered structure of the Istanbuls Today exhibition.
Participants of the Papier-Mâché: Grotesque Figuresworkshop create three-dimensional designs inspired by Rego's grotesque figures. In the Therapeutic Art: Painting with Mindfulness and Embodied Stories workshops, participants explore different ways of discovering and expressing feelings through art. At the Storytelling: Whispers of the City and Sustainability: Eco-Friendly Detergent workshops inspired by the Istanbuls Today exhibition, the participants are invited to produce art focusing on different aspects of Istanbul.
In the Mixed Media and Istanbul in My Memory workshops, which will be held online exclusively for teachers, created designs are inspired by both of the exhibitions.
You can purchase your tickets on www.biletix.com
Sustainability: The Eco-Friendly Detergent and teacher-specific workshops are free of charge, reservation is required.

Paula Rego is a Portuguese/British artist who revolutionised the ways women are represented and is not one to compromise her truths. The Story of Stories shows how Rego authentically confronts oppression, authority, and institutional violence while not being afraid to reveal her own personal nature and socio-political context.
Henryk Weyssenhoff, author of landscapes, prints, and illustrations, devoted much of his creative energies to realistic vistas of Belorussia, Lithuania, and Samogitia. A descendant of an ancient noble family which moved east to the newly Polonised Inflanty in the 17th century, the young Henryk was raised to cherish Polish national traditions.
A series of small and rather similar nudes Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu and Eren Eyüboğlu produced in the early 1930s almost resemble a ‘visual conversation’ that focus on a pictorial search. It is also possible to find the visual reflections of this earlier search in the synthesis Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu reached with his stylistic abstractions in the 1950s.
