Squirrel Sneaking into the Museum

Pera Kids
Ages 4-6

  • November 14, 2024 / 10:30

A fun adventure in pursuit of the squirrel who sneaks into the museum! After listening to the squirrel's tale, children visit Calculations and Coincidences with a guide and collect the transparent geometric shapes left for them in front of some of the works in the exhibition and place them on their squirrel-shaped templates. Afterwards, the children go down to the workshop and use their flashlights to reflect the colorful geometric shapes in their squirrels' bellies on the wall in a dark environment and have a pleasant experience woven with colors and shapes.

Instructor: Anna Karayorgi
Capacity: 12 people
Duration: 60 minutes
Fee per workshop: 300 TL

The event will take place at the Pera Museum (face-to-face).

Dancing on Architecture

Dancing on Architecture

I think it was Frank Zappa – though others claim it was Laurie Anderson – who said in an interview that ‘writing on music is much like dancing on architecture’.

It’s better to burn out than to fade away

In 1962 Philip Corner, one of the most prominent members of the Fluxus movement, caused a great commotion in serious music circles when during a performance entitled Piano Activities he climbed up onto a grand piano and began to kick it while other members of the group attacked it with saws, hammers and all kinds of other implements.

Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests

Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests

Between 1963 and 1966 Andy Warhol worked at making film portraits of all sorts of characters linked to New York art circles. Famous people and anonymous people were filmed by Andy Warhol’s 16 mm camera, for almost four minutes, without any instructions other than ‘to get in front of the camera’.
