Bill Seretis is a twenty years old uneducated, penniless man and his strong legs and talent as a soccer player are all he has going for him. With these assets he wants to conquer the soccer fields, to capture the colorful headlines of the sports papers, and to have himself crowned king on Sundays. After a two-year stint on dirt soccer fields, cheap hotels, "thrown" games, the loneliness of the countryside and hasty affairs with women of every sort, the dream comes true at a major Athens team. However, as soon as he touches it the dream vanishes. The soccer establishment and the vested interests of special groups crush Bill.
The exhibition “Look At Me! Portraits and Other Fictions from the ”la Caixa” Contemporary Art Collection” examined portraiture, one of the oldest artistic genres, through a significant number of works of our times. Paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos shaped a labyrinth of gazes that invite spectators to reflect themselves in the social mirror of portraits.
