The film depicting the final days before the death of Lord Byron, a 19th-century Romantic poet, is almost a tribute to the political beliefs and struggles of that era. It offers a unique portrayal of Byron not only as a poet but also as someone deeply in love with Greece and possessing a revolutionary spirit.
In 1998 Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu collaborated on an obvious remake of Marcel Duchamp’s Roue de Bicyclette, his first “readymade” object. Duchamp combined a bicycle wheel, a fork and a stool to create a machine which served no purpose, subverting accepted norms of art.
In 1962 Philip Corner, one of the most prominent members of the Fluxus movement, caused a great commotion in serious music circles when during a performance entitled Piano Activities he climbed up onto a grand piano and began to kick it while other members of the group attacked it with saws, hammers and all kinds of other implements.
