The film tells a story that unfolds in medieval Macedonia in the 14th century when the first civil war broke out in Byzantium. A young man (Xenos) from Doxobus - a Byzantine village - will live through all the winds of war, growing up first in a monastery and then participating in the civil war. The defeat of the emperor and the triumph of the revolutionaries, where Xenos was distinguished for his heroic achievements, will reward him for his bravery.
This life-size portrait of a girl is a fine example of the British art of portrait painting in the early 18th century. The child is shown posing on a terrace, which is enclosed at the right foreground by the plinth of a pillar; the background is mainly filled with trees and shrubs.
Coffee was served with much splendor at the harems of the Ottoman palace and mansions. First, sweets (usually jam) was served on silverware, followed by coffee serving. The coffee jug would be placed in a sitil (brazier), which had three chains on its sides for carrying, had cinders in the middle, and was made of tombac, silver or brass. The sitil had a satin or silk cover embroidered with silver thread, tinsel, sequin or even pearls and diamonds.
