The thermal power plant in Tunçbilek district of Kütahya negatively affects people's lives. Because of the thermal power plant located in the very center of the city; people suffer from cancer, shortness of breath, especially children and the elderly are constantly getting sick. Smoke entering people's workplaces and homes when they work is the main cause of illness. 70-year-old Nuriye Türk, one of the people most affected by this situation, is constantly trying to make her voice heard. Nuriye Türk, who has cancer, does not want to escape from this place where she spent most of her life, but to live here happily as before. Mustafa Özyurt, President of Tavşanlı Environmental Platform, also lives in Tunçbilek. They try to make their voices heard with the scientific studies they do. Environmental NGOs constantly express how harmful the unfiltered chimney is to nature and therefore to human beings. Nobody in the town wants the power plant to close. They want the filter to be stuck on and keep people working there. In the fresh air where they can see the sky…
Coffee was served with much splendor at the harems of the Ottoman palace and mansions. First, sweets (usually jam) was served on silverware, followed by coffee serving. The coffee jug would be placed in a sitil (brazier), which had three chains on its sides for carrying, had cinders in the middle, and was made of tombac, silver or brass. The sitil had a satin or silk cover embroidered with silver thread, tinsel, sequin or even pearls and diamonds.
